for Watershed Projection
This organization is to be credited with much of the original technical and conceptual material provided in Growth Readiness. This is also an excellent resource for other watershed information.
NEMO
(Nonpoint Source Education for Municipal Officials)
NEMO's Web site describes itself as
"An educational program for local land use officials that
addresses the relationship of land use to natural resource
protection." It has been a major motivating force for educational
efforts all across the nation. Much of the approach in Growth
Readiness has been modeled after NEMO. The team at NEMO
has also provided useful review and comment on the content
of this material.
Tennessee
Valley Authority
TVA developed a version of Growth
Readiness from NEMO and Center for Watershed Protection's
materials for Tennessee, then generously provided the model
to Kentucky, with no strings attached. While considerable
effort was expended in adapting this curriculum to Kentucky,
we could not have done this project without its help. TVA
also helped train the original set of trainers.
